Mischief Managed

It would appear that most of the fires have burned out in and around our area now. If you look at this map you can get an idea of how things have gone. We're located pretty much smack dab in the middle of square 1106.

This morning started out with another ashfall. Our neighbors charmingly called it "California Snow". We had smoke pretty much up until noon, and after that the wind died down and things seem to have pretty well cleared up.

Looks like my office will be open again tomorrow, so I can get back to work. It seems we dodged a bullet - if we had moved further south like we originally intended, we may be evacuees at this point. You have to feel terrible for the people who have been forced out of their homes, or worse, lost them entirely to the fire. Absolute tragedy.

If you'd like to help, you can donate funds to the San Diego Red Cross here. Please avoid anyone else representing themselves as a charity, unless they are a known entity (like the Red Cross). Evidently, there are some hucksters out there passing themselves off as charity to solicit your funds.
